Abstract

In the abstract of the report presented at the 6th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Global Trends in The Development of Information Technology and Science" (Stockholm, Sweden, July 1-3, 2026), the authors substantiate the conceptual foundations and the algorithm for applying the model of narrative prevention of unauthorized absence from a military unit (AWOL) in the activities of the Military Law Enforcement Service (MLES) in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The relevance of the study is driven by the need to search for newest non-punitive, psychosocial, and legal tools to prevent destructive behavior of military personnel in the conditions of a prolonged state of martial law. The structure of the preventive algorithm, which is based on the integration of data from the command, psychologists, and the social environment of a service member, is disclosed. Main attention is paid to the methodology of conducting a narrative preventive interview. This method is aimed at deconstructing personal interpretations of critical situations and identifying specific narrative markers of risk (in particular, "narratives of hopelessness"). It is proven that the implementation of the narrative approach into the practice of the MLES makes it possible to timely identify the motivational crises of fighters. Such an approach transforms the system of maintaining discipline from a purely reactive response to proactive support and psychosocial intervention.
