Abstract

The article analyzes the strategic mission of socio-humanitarian education in ensuring academic freedom and fostering an individual's intellectual sovereignty amidst the full-scale war and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. The recursive relationship between academic freedom and socio-humanitarian education is explored: humanities and social sciences provide the cognitive toolkit (logic, ethics, hermeneutics) to exercise autonomy, while academic freedom serves as a vital prerequisite for developing open, non-ideological knowledge. The paper highlights the risks associated with the marginalization of humanities, administrative over-bureaucratization, "technocratic autism" in STEM fields, and the ethical challenges of integrating artificial intelligence into education. Concrete measures are proposed to reinforce both institutional and individual academic freedom.
