Abstract

The article analyzes the issue of marginalizing social sciences and humanities education in Ukraine within the context of contemporary socio-economic, geopolitical, and wartime challenges. The author proposes a definition of "socio-humanitarian education" as an integrated field aimed at developing an individual's worldview, ethical, cultural, legal, and social competencies. The study traces the causes of the global and domestic crisis in humanities knowledge, including the shift in state educational policy toward STEM disciplines, the reduction of academic credits, and the de facto neglect of value-driven education. It is demonstrated that socio-humanitarian education plays a critical role in national security, critical thinking development, counteracting hostile propaganda, and mobilizing society during wartime. Key contradictions and priority tasks for reforming the field to establish a new nation-building educational paradigm are outlined.
