Abstract
The report highlights the current transformations in the worldview of Ukrainians. The author analyzes the cause-and-effect relationship between the quality of socio-humanitarian education in Ukraine and national and geopolitical phenomena of the twenty-first century. The criteria for the effectiveness of socio-humanitarian education are determined, and its justification in the postcolonial, geopolitical and military dimensions is carried out. The essence of the concept of “marginalization of socio-humanitarian education” is defined and its consequences are characterized. The ability of socio-humanitarian education to influence geopolitical processes is illustrated by analyzing the language policy in Ukraine and the peculiarities of forming language competence among its citizens. It is concluded that the quality of socio-humanitarian education of citizens of a particular country influences the choice of its political elites to pursue democratic or authoritarian values.
