Abstract

The article examines the development of students' scientific thinking as an essential component of the social and professional orientation of the individual within specialized scientific upper secondary education. Scientific thinking is substantiated as an integrative characteristic of gifted students, manifested in their ability to apply logical, critical, and creative approaches to the analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of information, solve complex problems, and generate new knowledge. The study identifies the key characteristics of scientific thinking, including cognitive activity, analytical ability, creativity, independence in research activities, strong learning motivation, and readiness for sustained intellectual work. Particular attention is paid to the role of specialized scientific education in developing research competence, professional self-determination, and students' readiness for productive activity in contemporary society. The importance of creating an educational environment that approximates professional practice, fostering research activities, updating the conceptual and terminological framework, and integrating educational processes with the needs of society, the state, and the labour market is emphasized. It is concluded that the development of students' scientific thinking is a key factor in strengthening the intellectual potential of the nation, ensuring humanitarian security, and preparing competitive professionals capable of innovation, responsible decision-making, and creating high value-added products.
