Abstract

The article provides a theoretical analysis of facilitation as an innovative technology of social work and a crucial component of the professional competence of a modern specialist. The relevance of the study is driven by the transformation of the social sphere in Ukraine, the shift from paternalistic models of assistance to partnership interaction, and the need to strengthen social cohesion amidst crisis challenges. The author reveals the content and structure of the facilitative competence of a social worker. A distinction is made between the concepts of "management," "moderation," and "facilitation," where the latter is defined as a process that eases communication, fosters understanding, and activates the internal resources of a group or community. It is substantiated that the facilitative approach enables a social worker to effectively organize dialogue between various stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and engage vulnerable population groups in the decision-making process. Particular attention is paid to the practical aspects of applying facilitation tools in community work. The list of key "soft skills" necessary for successful facilitation is identified: emotional intelligence, active listening, non-judgmental perception, the ability to manage group dynamics, and work with resistance. Based on the competence-based approach, the necessity of updating the content of professional training for social workers in higher education institutions is proven. The article proposes ways to integrate training methods and facilitation practices into the educational process to develop future specialists' ability to build subject-subject relations with clients. It is concluded that mastering the art of facilitation is a prerequisite for improving the quality of social services and developing a democratic culture within communities.
