Abstract

The paper examines the features of modern didactic materials for chemistry in the context of the competency-based approach implemented in the New Ukrainian School. Didactic materials are substantiated as a means of organizing activity-based learning, and their main functions are characterized, including constructive, competency-oriented, adaptive, diagnostic and formative, integrative, motivational, and reflective functions. The study identifies the key characteristics of didactic materials that facilitate the achievement of the expected learning outcomes defined by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.
