Abstract
The article is devoted to the development of a structural-dynamic model of the constitution of personality’s mental resources in the context of full-scale war and increasing social uncertainty. The wartime context leads to a radical disruption of habitual sense structures, actualizes the threat of losing psychological integrity, agency, and life orientations, which necessitates a shift from merely describing the consequences of traumatization to analyzing the mechanisms that preserve an individual’s capacity for sense-making and action. Mental resources are conceptualized as a multilevel regulatory system that cannot be reduced to an existing “stock” of resources but is reproduced in the process of interpretation, narrative integration, and senseful transformation of experience. The theoretical foundation of the model integrates the resource paradigm, the narrative approach to identity construction, and contemporary theories of sense-making. On this basis, a procedural cycle of mental resource actualization is proposed: situation → interpretation → narrative → sense-making → meaningful transformation → action. It is shown that the situation functions as a trigger of disruption in semantic coherence between internal and external contexts; interpretation provides the primary cognitive structuring of the event; narrative integrates the lived experience into the life story; sense-making functions as a meta-resource that correlates the event with values and identity; senseful transformation leads to the reconfiguration of the individual’s life concept; action emerges as the practical realization of the new semantic configuration and, at the same time, opens a new cycle of development. It is substantiated that mental resources function as a dynamic system of sense-making processes capable of preserving psychological integrity and agency under conditions of prolonged adversity. The model has heuristic potential for studying mechanisms of resilience, life competence, and personal development in the wartime context, as well as for designing psychological support programs oriented toward the reconfiguration of meanings and the restoration of the capacity for productive action.
