Abstract
Introduction. This article addresses the pressing issue of developing civic identity among young people, which is linked to the prospects of uniting the community to defend the state and self-organize society during the post-war reconstruction phase. The development of scientific and methodological support for the development of civic identity among young people in de-occupied territories is one aspect of this issue. The purpose of the article is to justify a model of socio-psychological support for the development of civic identity among young people in de-occupied territories. Key findings. The goal of supporting the development of civic identity among young people is to create conditions for establishing the values of civic identification and acquiring the competencies (skills) necessary for successfully fulfilling the role of a citizen. The traumatic experiences of young people in de-occupied territories have determined the choice of support principles, in particular the principle of “care based on experience,” which is implemented through strengthening (restoring) a sense of security, increasing self-efficacy, and developing the competencies necessary to protect one's rights. The feasibility of developing a support program based on a three-dimensional structure of civic identity (individual-collective, subject-object, and cognitive-structural dimensions) has been substantiated, and markers and threats to identity for each of the dimensions have been identified. Indicators are identified that should be used as a guide when formulating tasks, selecting tools, and evaluating the effectiveness of support for the development of civic identity among young people. The logic of supporting identity development at three levels is substantiated: cognitive (perceptions, evaluations), affective (values, attitudes), and conative (practices, abilities). Conclusions. The proposed model is relevant to the task of support and can be used at all stages: from the development of diagnostic tools, the identification of directions and means of influence, to monitoring the effectiveness of support for the development of civic identity among young people in de-occupied territories.
