Abstract
The relevance of the study is caused by the need to identify the features of the transformation of the national identity of youth under occupation, and determining the directions of its development in the deoccupied territories. The aim of the article is to substantiate the model of socio-psychological support for the development of national identity of youth in the deoccupied territories. Methodology. An analysis of empirical research conducted in the deoccupied territories of Ukraine was carried out in order to identify indicators of the transformation of national identity. Our own research was conducted using the projective methodology “Geography of visual images” (collages). Based on the analysis, the directions of development of the national identity of the youth of the deoccupied territories of Ukraine were established. The results. National identity is considered as the awareness of belonging to a political nation – a community that has its own name, its own experience of statehood, language, traditions, myths and symbolism, common values, geographical and ethnosocial origin, historical memory and expectations for the future. The proposed model of socio-psychological support for the development of national identity of youth in the deoccupied territories includes: basic principles, components and stages of support; indicators of national identity transformation that occurred as a result of being under occupation; directions for the development of national identity of youth in the deoccupied territories of Ukraine; structural elements of support and relevant tools of developing national identity. According to the results of the study, directions for the development of national identity of youth in the deoccupied territories of Ukraine were determined: restoring unity, overcoming social isolation, restoring trust in fellow citizens and the state, psychological support taking into account traumatic consequences for identity, neutralizing the influence of Russian narratives, restoring cultural and family ties with Ukraine. The following indicators of the transformation of national identity that occurred as a result of being under occupation are highlighted: lack of a sense of security with Ukrainian identity; trauma, feelings of inferiority; ambivalent feelings, insecurity; desire to distance oneself from Russian identity; strengthening of Ukrainian identity; lack of unity, social isolation. Prospects for further research consist in development of tools for research the national identity of youth in the deoccupied territories of Ukraine.
