Abstract
The institutional mechanisms for involving employers in the processes of ensuring the quality of vocational education and training (VET) in the United Kingdom are analyzed. The global paradigm shift from a supply-oriented model to a demand-driven model of the labor market in the context of Industry 4.0 and the digitalization of the economy is revealed. Special attention is paid to the mechanism of validation of qualifications and independent assessment of the professional competence of graduates. Based on the analysis of British practices, specific recommendations are proposed for implementation in the Ukrainian system of vocational education: the development of sectoral employer councils, the creation of a network of qualification centers, the introduction of an industrial “quality mark” for business entities.
