Abstract

The article describes the peculiarities of using mind maps as a means of visualizing and categorizing information in a higher medical education institution in the classroom of medical biology. An analysis of recent research and publications on the use of mind maps in educational institutions at various levels, including preschool, primary, secondary and higher education, is presented. The authors substantiate the main advantages of using mind maps in the classroom in natural sciences, in particular, medical biology, and suggest options for using mind maps in the professional activities of teachers. Some platforms and services used to create mind maps online are presented. On the example of specific topics, the algorithm for developing mind maps and the peculiarities of their use in practical and lecture classes and in preparing students for the integrated test exam KROK are shown, and the expediency of using the Miro interactive whiteboard for conducting classes is substantiated. It has been established that the use of mental maps in medical biology classes is relevant today, as this method allows visualizing and systematizing complex information about biological processes and establishing links between previous and future topics, which allows students to learn large amounts of information and assimilate it in its entirety, not fragmentarily.
