Abstract
The purpose of this article is to define and justify the conceptual foundations of vocational guidance and career counseling for students pursuing higher vocational education. These conceptual foundations are examined through the lens of psychological, pedagogical, and career development theories. A motivational and value-oriented approach to career planning helps students make informed career decisions by aligning their abilities, interests, and values with the demands of the labor market. It facilitates a successful transition to professional life. Career counseling combines individual assessments, industry engagement, digital tools, and on-the-job training to enhance employability and adaptability. Career counseling emphasizes the use of assessment tools, digital technologies, internships, and mentoring programs to strengthen students’ decision-making abilities, develop their skills, and facilitate a smooth entry into the labor market. Continuous learning, technological integration, and personalized career counseling are essential for preparing students to succeed in a dynamic professional environment.
