Abstract
The monograph analyzes modern strategies and practices of adult education. The mission of lifelong education, its role in the social and vital context is characterized; the ability to provide adults with knowledge, skills and abilities to respond to social challenges is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the adult education system in Ukraine and its development trends. Foreign experience in adult education is highlighted, the analysis of which is visualized in three directions: a general overview of systems, their legislative regulation, and the training of pedagogical personnel for working with adults. The conceptualization of the andragogical paradigm is substantiated, the essence of which is presented in the dimensions of the didactic principles of educational and andragogical activity, the psychological and physiological characteristics of adults, the educational and activity motivation of adults, and models and styles of adult learning, the consideration of which ensures a positive impact and efficiency of the educational process. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign experience, the essence of the professionalization of the activities of specialists working with an adult audience, their integral role position in formal and non-formal education is highlighted. The structural and organizational model of training pedagogical personnel for the adult education system and its varieties - academic and contextual models - are substantiated. The publication is addressed to scientists, scientific and pedagogical workers, practicing teachers, education managers, representatives of public organizations, everyone who is interested in the problems of adult education, lifelong education.
