Abstract

The article defines the concepts of "training of pedagogical workers to prevent and compensate for educational losses of students of basic and complete secondary education" (the process of forming teachers' readiness for the specified activity, which involves their acquisition of professional knowledge, mastery of relevant skills and abilities, experience, and assimilation of certain value attitudes) and "readiness of pedagogical workers to prevent and compensate for educational losses of students" (the result of relevant training, the state of their ability and capacity for long-term productive performance of this activity, which is based on relevant professional knowledge, skills and abilities, experience, and value attitudes). The structure of the indicated readiness is determined and substantiated, in which three components are highlighted, namely: value-motivational (a set of professional value attitudes, motives and interests of a pedagogical worker that determine his professional activity in preventing and overcoming educational losses of students), cognitive-knowledge (professional knowledge about the causes of occurrence, means and methods of preventing and overcoming educational losses of students, views on this problem), activity-processual (a set of skills and abilities, experience of a pedagogical worker in preventing and compensating for educational losses of students). The prospects for developing educational and methodological support for the training of pedagogical workers to prevent and compensate for students' educational losses are outlined, and the structure of the practical manual is determined as its key component, which contains text (main, additional and explanatory text) and extratext (orientation apparatus, illustrations, apparatus for organizing assimilation) components. It is justified that the content of the practical manual will consider issues of theory, methodology, techniques and practice of preventing and compensating for students' educational losses. Prospects for further exploration of this problem are associated with the creation, testing and implementation of the curriculum of the special course "Prevention and Compensation of Students' Educational Losses" for institutions of postgraduate education of pedagogical workers, as well as a methodological kit for teachers who will study this course (teaching and methodological manual, practical course, workbook).
