Abstract
Social inclusion is an unalternative priority for the development of post-war Ukrainian society, which strives for equality, justice, development and resilience. Social inclusion in the field of higher education should become an activator and driver of the expected changes, opening access to higher education and enabling applicants with different individual characteristics, acquired experience, and special educational needs to realize their potential and contribute to the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. When developing the definitions, the authors relied on research and analytical documents from UNESCO, the UN, the World Bank, international documents and reports, the documentary heritage of the European Higher Education Area, the domestic regulatory and legal framework, and modern scientific research. The terminology presented in this section aims to systematize the conceptual and terminological apparatus that is currently used in research and practice of social inclusion in higher education. Systematization of the conceptual and terminological apparatus, creation of a single terminological field will stimulate further scientific research on this topic, will become the basis for developing effective strategies for social inclusion, developing and adopting inclusive policies and practical solutions, and will contribute to the integration of the Ukrainian higher education system into the EHEA and the European Educational Space. The authors sincerely hope that mastering the conceptual and terminological apparatus for social inclusion in the field of higher education will influence the development of effective institutional policies and the implementation of best European practices in the activities of Ukrainian higher education institutions, and will help create an educational environment where every student will have equal access to quality knowledge and opportunities for self-realization.
