Abstract

The article provides a theoretical justification and develops a methodology for creating and using an educational chatbot as a digital tool for shaping the environmental worldview of students. The role of the chatbot in ensuring interactivity, individualization, and effectiveness of the educational process is defined, along with the relationship between its functional capabilities, the learning environment, and the development of environmental awareness among learners. A structural-functional model and a step-by-step methodology for creating an educational chatbot are proposed, including analytical, design, technological, content-related, and evaluative stages. The aim of the methodology involves the formation of environmental knowledge, the development of ecological thinking, responsible behavior, and increased motivation of students to study environmental issues. The principles of implementation include interactivity, accessibility, clarity, consistency, personalization, and practical orientation. The author’s educational chatbot “EcoMind Bot” is presented, with its structure comprising learning modules, interactive tasks, quizzes, game scenarios, eco-news, and an achievement system. A multi-level learning organization (levels A, B, C) is also described, ensuring gradual content complexity and the progressive development of environmental thinking. It is determined that the integration of the chatbot into the educational process (in-class, extracurricular, independent, and distance learning) contributes to improving environmental awareness, developing critical thinking, fostering environmentally responsible behavior, and enhancing students’ cognitive activity. The proposed methodology ensures a comprehensive approach to the use of digital technologies in environmental education and creates conditions for effectively forming students’ environmental worldview.
