Abstract
The article addresses the challenges of academic writing and public speaking as key instruments in fostering effective intergroup communication in the professional training of future political and economic leaders. The authors emphasize the interrelation between written and oral forms of communication, which facilitate the development of analytical, critical, and strategic thinking, as well as the ability to persuasively argue and influence audiences. The significance of academic writing is highlighted as a means of systematizing knowledge, structuring arguments, and forming conceptual approaches to addressing political and economic issues. Particular attention is paid to the psycholinguistic and socio-psychological factors of communication effectiveness. The mechanisms of intergroup interaction, the influence of social identity, and the use of linguistic strategies in shaping audience perception and persuasion are examined. It is demonstrated that the integration of written and oral communicative practices enables future leaders to adapt to complex professional contexts, enhance their influence on groups, and effectively implement strategic objectives in intergroup and international communication. The study proposes a methodological approach to integrating academic writing and rhetorical practices into the educational process. A set of exercises and instructional scenarios has been developed, including analytical briefs, essays, debates, negotiation simulations, and media projects. This methodology is aimed at developing students’ cognitive, communicative, and rhetorical competencies, as well as fostering strategic thinking, effective argumentation, and public speaking skills in political and economic contexts. Through a comprehensive approach, the training of future political and economic leaders gains significant practical value. The integration of written and oral communication forms contributes to the development of professional competence, critical and analytical thinking, the ability to exert effective intergroup influence, and to make well-founded decisions. The obtained results may be used to improve educational programs in the fields of political leadership and economic diplomacy, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of teaching communication and rhetorical skills in the professional preparation of future specialists.
