Abstract
The article analyzes the problem of implementing the applied orientation of the basic physics course using a modern textbook, identifies the theoretical foundations and practical mechanisms for its solution. The applied orientation is considered as a means of establishing a connection between the content and methodological components of school natural science subjects. Attention is focused on the fact that the applied orientation of the basic physics course is the basis for the formation of key and subject competencies of students, as well as the implementation of its competence potential, defined by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. It is established that one of the tools for implementing the applied orientation of the basic physics course is practice-oriented tasks, usually of an interdisciplinary nature. Solving such tasks contributes to a thorough assimilation of physical knowledge, mastery of cross-curricular skills and abilities, awareness of the practical significance of scientific physical theories and their impact on the development of technology and engineering. Factors that make it possible to build a functional system of applied tasks have been identified, including: specific features of the content of the educational material in physics; hierarchical subordination of tasks to psychological features and regularities of the process of knowledge assimilation by students - in particular, relationships between physical theories, laws and concepts; features of students' critical thinking (assimilation of not only factual knowledge, but also methods of its independent acquisition); opportunities for applying physical knowledge when solving practically-oriented tasks. It is substantiated that the inclusion of applied tasks in the physics textbook significantly activates students' thinking, contributes to the individualization of the learning process and the implementation of the principle of applied orientation. The main idea in this case is the orientation of the content and methodological apparatus of the physics textbook to the formation of knowledge and skills of students, which they will need in life and future professional activity. An algorithm for selecting and designing applied tasks is proposed, taking into account the principle of sufficiency of applied knowledge in the process of solving practice-oriented tasks, as well as the specifics of the content of the basic physics course.
