Abstract
This article systematically sets out the conceptual foundations for the development of a new didactics for specialised secondary education, driven by global transformations in education, particularly digitalisation and the challenges posed by the war. It is demonstrated that the traditional knowledge-reproductive model has exhausted its potential, necessitating a transition to a flexible competence-based paradigm grounded in human-centred principles. Key areas of transformation are identified: the non-linearity of the educational process, transdisciplinarity, and the establishment of the student as an active agent capable of independently shaping their own educational trajectory. Particular attention is paid to the findings of the study by the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, ‘Didactic Systems of Specialised Secondary Education’ (2024–2025), within the framework of which a conceptual model of the didactic system of specialised education has been developed. The research adapts Western experience of personalised learning to the Ukrainian context, taking into account the potential for using modern technologies, in particular artificial intelligence. The need to strengthen the practice-oriented component, introduce dual education and shift from punitive to formative assessment has been substantiated. Recommendations for further research are provided: the development of ‘roadmaps’ for different types of institutions, the updating of methodological tools, and the strengthening of international cooperation. New didactics is viewed as a strategic tool for preparing competitive graduates to meet the demands of a dynamic labour market and for strengthening the nation’s intellectual capital.
