Abstract

The presentation focuses on Ukrainian pedology of the 1920s–1930s as both a scientific phenomenon and a corpus of sources preserved in the collections of the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine. It highlights key types of sources—textbooks, monographs, collected papers, and scholarly journals—that reflect the development of pedology as an interdisciplinary science of the child, oriented toward a comprehensive study of child development. Special attention is paid to the ideas of leading scholars, particularly Oleksandr Zaluzhnyi and representatives of the Odesa pedological school. The presentation also examines the causes and consequences of the 1936 suppression of pedology, which led to the disruption of this scientific tradition. The significance of preserved sources is emphasized for contemporary reinterpretation of the history of education and the актуалization of child-centered, individualized, and interdisciplinary approaches in modern pedagogy.
