Abstract

An important role in adherence to pharmacotherapy in patients with Сoronary Heart Disease with comorbid conditions is played by psychological factors, the number of prescribed medications, and individual characteristics of patients, in particular gender. Understanding the influence of these variables is necessary for developing effective strategies to increase adherence to treatment in patients with coronary artery disease with comorbid conditions while providing high-quality patient-centered pharmacotherapy. A retrospective assessment of the level of adherence to pharmacotherapy among patients with diagnosed coronary artery disease with comorbid conditions was conducted, as well as determining how adherence to treatment is affected by gender characteristics, the number of prescribed medicines, and psycho-emotional state (anxiety and depressive manifestations). Adherence to treatment in patients with Coronary Heart Disease remains insufficient and depends on gender differences by sex, the number of prescribed medications, and psycho-emotional state. The identified association of anxiety and depression with reduced adherence to treatment indicates the need for psycho-emotional screening of such patients. The proposed logistic regression model may be useful for predicting patients' behavior regarding pharmacotherapy and for improving the efficiency of providing quality patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
