Abstract
The methodological recommendations consider the specific features of teaching physics and astronomy in Grade 9 of gymnasium as the final stage of basic secondary education. Approaches to the systematic integration of the physics and astronomy components of education, practical orientation of learning, development of students’ holistic scientific worldview, and research skills are outlined. The importance of competence-oriented and applied physics problems is highlighted, particularly their role in developing students’ ability to apply physics knowledge to practical problems, supporting pre-profile preparation and career guidance. The recommendations describe the potential of the physics textbook and its electronic supplement, which integrates print and digital learning tools and provides access to simulations, video materials, interactive models, and virtual laboratory activities. Particular attention is paid to organizing physics experiments, using digital resources, addressing learning losses and heterogeneous educational backgrounds, as well as career guidance and demonstrating the role of physics in STEM careers. Methodological guidelines for achieving the learning outcomes defined by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education are also outlined.
