Photography as a therapeutic form of fixing reality

Abstract

The article considers the characteristics of photography and the possibility of using this technology as a therapeutic form of reality. The concept of the content of photography in the socio-psychological context is studied, defined as a fixation of real experience, state or time, and reflects the current position of the subject. The phenomenon of phototherapy, which refers to the use of photography and personal photos during therapy, is highlighted, where trained professionals use these methods to help clients during the consultation. The analysis of the main ideas of the existence of therapy with the help of photography as a method is carried out. we highlight significant postulates for promotion in the topic: fixation of reality: this method is effective due to photo images at least three different levels: therapeutic qualities of photography, viewing, sharing and discussing images with others; images are a powerful means of psychological expression or living of individual reality; the photo has the ability to combine into a single object the ideas and desires of the individual, which makes it a powerful way to present their unified reality. The classification of methods of fixing reality with the help of photos, social methods of fixing reality, using photographic images aimed at identifying external problems of personality, and analytically and emotionally – have a deeper direction and involve the impact of photographs on the subconscious structure of the individual. The main mechanism of reality analysis through photographic images is highlighted, which includes the reflection in the human consciousness of the laws of the objective world and social practice, and determines the possibility of preserving the individual reality of the contemplating person. Conclusions are made in the system of studying photography as a therapeutic form of reality fixation that photography is an essential factor in constructing social practices: social interaction of social groups, elites and active-passive majority, social imitation, socialization, coexistence with others. We see further consideration of this problem in a more detailed study of the reality of personality, and its formation using phototherapy methods.
