Abstract

Pharmaceutical care for patients after acute coronary syndrome (ACS) should be regarded as an integral component of modern cardiac rehabilitation. This can be achieved through the integration of pharmacists into multidisciplinary teams, which will help ensure greater pharmacotherapeutic effectiveness, optimize treatment quality, reduce the incidence of premature hospitalizations and mortality from coronary heart disease (CHD), and improve patients’ quality of life. It is recommended to update educational programs within the system of postgraduate pharmaceutical education, develop clinical protocols for specific cardiovascular conditions, and involve pharmacists in multidisciplinary teams in clinical practice.
