Abstract
The article updates the problem of developing approaches to designing the structure and content of a basic level physics textbook in the context of physics of the New Ukrainian School, which implements the requirements of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and model curricula developed on its basis. The foreign experience and peculiarities of the implementation of the physical component of the natural science education industry are analyzed. Attention is focused on the need for didactic and methodical substantiation of the content of the physics textbook in the context of the formation of components of natural and scientific competence as a dynamic combination of natural knowledge, abilities, skills, attitudes, ways of thinking, views, values, and other personal qualities that can be identified, measured and evaluated and which a person is able to demonstrate after completing the educational program and apply in further educational or professional activities. Directions for further improvement of the physics textbook are considered. The structural components of modules as separate content units of physics textbooks are defined and described. Creative, individual and group tasks are proposed, which aim to help prepare students for formative, ongoing and final assessment in accordance with the requirements of the new standard.
