Abstract

In the context of the problem of Ukrainian-language education in the Russian Empire, the importance of two little-known publications (1915 and 1916) by the outstanding scientist-historian, public figure-statesman Mykhailo Hrushevskyi is highlighted regarding the importance of preserving and spreading the Ukrainian language as a means of providing the population with primary education in connection with the issue of independent state formation.
