Abstract

We consider social optimism as positive expectations of a person, group, or society that extend to public life (belief in progress, development of society), and which are supported by an active civic position, a willingness to act for the benefit of society, and an awareness of oneself as a socially significant force. Social optimism mobilizes an active part of the population for self-education, self-improvement, overcoming old destructive models of behavior and relations of social and political actors that are destructive for society, and the implementation of socially important tasks, including economic ones.
