Abstract

The situation of the pandemic and the imposed forced measures to prevent its spread as such that had an impact on the psychological state of people and had signs of stress, such as: uncertainty; too many novelties and surprises, not enough specifics; forced isolation imposed by external circumstances beyond our control; misunderstanding of w hat is happening, as well as the possible consequences (for health, their material wealth, normal life, etc.); lack of ability to predict one᾽s own life; loss of human capacity to meet important social needs, etc. It was noted that this caused the spread of anxiety, fears, tension, a feeling of loss of control over their lives; appearance of aggression, anger, irritation; despair; impotence. Therefore, the demand of the population for the management of their own emotional states, their balancing, is urgent, and the demand for finding support, restoring stability and restoring a sense of comfort, becomes especially important.The article substantiates the position that bodily techniques of self-regulation are an effective tool that helps a person: cope with stress reactions of the body; «manage» with strong, including unpleasant emotions; restore a sense of stability, stability, balance and order; find internal supports; to develop the ability to rely on yourself and your own body structure, to feel your «core». Acquaintance and activation of body resources allow a person to feel centered, balanced, internally assembled and holistic person, comfortable in the external unpredictable world. The definition and psychological meaning of the concepts of grounding, centering, body building are given. Lists of possible variants of practices in different modalities are presented. A detailed description of some body-oriented techniques that help a person to learn emotional self-regulation skills (provided they are practiced regularly) are given. The body and body-oriented techniques are seen as the most accessible tool for human contact with ownselves, needs, emotions, strength, energy and vitality.
