Abstract

The manual presents a scientifically based view of career counseling as a component of vocational guidance, discusses the features of career counseling for various social and age groups of the population, in particular students and teachers of secondary schools, students and teachers of vocational and higher education institutions. In general terms, the content of the manual is disclosed, the theoretical and methodological foundations and the psychological and technological aspects of career counseling, developed on the basis of the personal and professional approach, include gender-age, career-diagnostic, resource-personal dimension, and are also based on models and forms of psychological counseling on the problems of building and implementing the educational and professional path of the individual. Psychological and technological aspects of career counseling are highlighted, programs for psychodiagnostics, counseling and correction of career development of a person, as well as psychotechnics and career counseling technologies are presented. The strategy of the career counseling center is determined, the content, features, and styles of career counseling are highlighted. The manual is intended for psychologists, social educators of educational institutions, psychologists, consultants of socio-psychological centers, employment centers, organizations, enterprises, and is also useful for students of psychological faculties of higher educational institutions, workers of scientific and educational institutions.
