Abstract
Typical educational program of primary education special institutions of secondary education for students in 4nd grade with intellectual disabilities is presented. Current issues is the development of innovative strategies for teaching students with intellectual disabilities, preparing them for independent life and the formation of vital competence for successful future social adaptation. In the context of the introduction of the concept of the New Ukrainian School, there is a need to change the educational priorities for correctional education of children with intellectual disabilities. The program includes a differentiated content of education for children with greater and lesser cognitive abilities (impaired intellectual development of mild and moderate degree). The principle of appropriate selection of the content of basic education made it possible to develop the content of teaching the Ukrainian language (literacy), reading, mathematics, labor training, integrated courses "I explore the world", "Art", "Technology", which will promote the pedagogical competence of primary school teachers who educate children with intellectual disabilities. The program is designed for teachers of special educational institutions and institutions with inclusive education, methodologists, all who are interested in the content of modern education of children with intellectual disabilities. The program will contribute to the effective learning and development of innovative strategies for the education of students with intellectual disabilities, preparing them for independent living and the formation of life skills for successful further social adaptation.
