Self-esteem is an element of an individual`s self-consciousness, which involves self-assessment, and personality`s assessment of his or her capabilities, qualities, and places among other people. It is an important behavior regulator. As a social phenomenon, it may undergo contradictory changes because it depends on a variety of personal and social factors.
