Abstract

The article is about the study of the features of self-attitude of seniors with secondary and higher education. Self-attitude is an important element of the personality structure that is implemented in a stable system of emotional and value-oriented attitude towards oneself. It is seen as a social attitude, affective element of self-consciousness, semantic structure. The self-attitude system has individual functions and structure. Self-attitude is associated with other psychological phenomena. Self-attitude of seniors is selective and depends on the situation. It is positive under normal circumstances. Difficulties and changes of the normal circumstances lead to negative attitude toward oneself. It has been found that seniors with higher education in comparison with seniors with secondary education have higher levels of self-confidence, self-management, reflected self- attitude, self- value, and lower level of internal tendency to conflicts. The first ones, in comparison with others, are better able to maintain their working capacity and self-confidence, especially in their normal situations; they more often consider themselves as the source of the development of their personality, it is easier to counteract external influences; they more believe that people around love and appreciate them; they appreciate their spiritual potential and the wealth of the inner world; they have fewer internal conflicts, contradictions, and doubts. Seniors with secondary and higher education have the same levels of openness, self-acceptance, self-devotion, and self-blaming.
