Abstract

The manual covers the issues of scientific and document classification, characterizes systematization as a process of analytical and synthetic processing of documents, presents the Universal Decimal Classification as an international information-search language of classification type. The main provisions of the general and special methods of systematization of documents by UDC tables in the sectoral aspect are presented, methodical recommendations on the organization of systematic catalogs, files and databases by UDC tables are presented. The practical guide is addressed to employees of educational libraries of different types and types. It can be useful for specialists of libraries of other systems and departments and will be useful for those who are engaged in scientific, pedagogical and scientific-methodical activities.
