Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the features of self-efficacy of heads of vocational education institutions. The connection of self-efficacy of managers with the success of their professional activity is shown. The main contradictions in the activities of modern vocational education institutions, which may adversely affect the level of self-efficacy of their managers, are identified. The indicators of general, activity and social self-efficacy of heads of vocational education institutions have been studied. An insufficient level of self-efficacy of the respondents compared with other categories of heads of educational organizations and entrepreneurs entities was identified. The features of self-efficacy of heads of vocational education institutions are established depending on gender, length of service, age, type of educational institution, location, region, etc. It has been revealed that female managers have less self-efficacy with an increase in length of service and age male managers. It has been determined that in innovative institutions of vocational education (colleges, TUs), indicators of self-efficacy of managers are higher than those of managers of traditional institutions of vocational education, especially those who are located in the centre of the country. It has been established that the heads of vocational education institutions from rural areas have activity self-efficacy higher and social self-efficacy lower than that managers from cities. The feasibility of promoting the development of self-efficacy of managers in the process of advanced training as a psychological factor of the success of their professional activity was stated.
