Abstract

The thesis reveals that Panteleimon Kulish was the creator of the national idea of ​​Ukraine, an excellent translator of Ukrainian, that he made the first translations of the world classics, his translation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, which John Franco admired, and even wrote a preface to it. many other successful translations. Such translation success is explained not only by the excellent knowledge of the mother tongue, but also by the subtle sense of world and European culture. Kulish may have outstripped his life by much of his life and sought after in modern Ukraine that postmodern, European Ukraine that we have not yet fully acquired.
