Three basic approaches to investigation of the personality are defined. Within their framework, the personality is considered as internal creation of the human, or as system construct of the relationships and activities of the subject in its environment, or as the author of the self-realization project in the context of supposed life goals. These approaches reflect three types of thinking (syncretic, system, and synergetic) which are characterized by different types of analysis of the research object: holistic, contextual, and self-organizational. Syncretic thinking provides the understanding of the world as the integrity, and this analysis logic, within the framework of which the context is not evolved, is applied for constructing of the model of autonomous holistic personality. The system approach means that the contextual analysis is used, and the personality is examined in its interaction with environment. The synergetic thinking is used for explanation of self-organization of open systems, which gives an opportunity to understand the personality as the author of life text. This author is revealed in the context situational activity which is, respectively, placed in the context of livelihood.
