Abstract
In traditional didactics, the learning process is presented as the formation of knowledge, skills and abilities of students. However, according to the author, more adequate representations of the educational process, it should be considered an interpretation of it as a process of assimilation by students of various activities. Research activity - a special kind of activity that is generated as a result of functioning of the mechanism of search activity and is based on its research behavior. The structure of research activity (RA) of senior pupils in the process of studying Ukrainian literature is analyzed, distinguishing the components of RA: subjects of RA, their needs and motives, purpose, objects of RA, means used, RA process and its results.
