Abstract
The empirical study made it possible to distinguish typical ways of coping with trauma in the community of family members of ATO participants: acute traumatic experiences; controllability and goodwill of the outside world; hostility and uncontrollability of the outside world; quasi-reflexive activity and dissimulation; systemic reflection as a way to overcome anxiety; aggressive avoidance; egocentric solitude; obedience to fate; object position; overcoming self-prosecution. The highlighted factors were analyzed in terms of their subjectivity, reflexivity, traumatism, coping and conditionally divided into adaptive, relatively adaptive and non-adaptive strategies. Certain strategies can be defined as temporary, transitional stages to more mature or vice versa more regressive, infantile reactions. Some strategies can be defined as formed and consolidated in experience of Ukrainian communities. This approach provides an opportunity for “thin, drip” intervention, overcoming specific, destructive states that provoke maladaptive behavior.
