Abstract
The main aspects of the process of forming the database of the authoritative file "Subject Headings" on issues of education, pedagogy and psychology of the electronic catalog of the State Scientific-Pedagogical Library of Ukraine named after V.O. Sukhomlynsky; discloses its importance for unification in the creation of bibliographic records in electronic catalogs to ensure maximum accuracy, concreteness and clarity in the process of objecting documents, disclosure of their content, and also expand the possibilities for more effective thematic search in electronic catalogs (databases) as within a single library , and also in conditions of inter-library interaction.
