Abstract
The article touches upon the problem of teaching the syntax of the Ukrainian language in a functional aspect, which allows students to develop the skills and habits of using various syntactic constructions in their own speech, taking into account their expressive abilities. It focuses on the rhetorical potential of syntactic linguistic units, which actualizes the importance of the distributed introduction into school textbooks of methodically adapted rhetorical data that would help to demonstrate the rhetorical potential of syntactic linguistic units.
