Abstract
The article is an attempt to justify the theoretical and methodological foundations of biographical researches in the field of education, on the basis of developments in the field of literary, historical and sociological Biography Studies. Due to function of historical and pedagogical knowledge seen four kinds of biographical studies in education. Substantiates the importance of recourse to the sources of national science and culture through microhistory of individual to create a complete history of the Ukrainian ethnos.
