Abstract

The paper outlines the way of life of the individual as a psychological category, and spiritual asceticism as a vertex psychological phenomenon, which provides for the implementation of spiritual ideals, meanings and values of the individual. We give psychological criteria to be met by the spiritual seeker and the results of a biographical analysis of the vital ways that made it possible to detect the typical patterns of spiritual development of personality.
