Abstract
In the submitted paper coverage philosophical and psychological meaning of spirituality and spiritual development, analyzes the current ideas about the spirit and spirituality. The root cause and the leading motive spiritually oriented activities and awareness of human behavior is considered universal unity. Intellectual development is associated with the process of identification of the individual with his own spiritual "I", in which man subjugates its biological and social nature of spiritual ideals, values and meanings, becomes a spiritual experience.
