This article deals with the Self-concept of vocational education worked out by Academician N. G. Nychkalo. Its basic components are analyzed. Much attention is given to the elucidation of such aspects of the concept as person-centered education, continuous professional education, quality of education, innovation and standardization. The role and place of a teacher in today’s educational process are revealed.
