Abstract

In wartime, the demand for certain types of work or skills increases. For example, if maintenance specialists, engineers or medical personnel are needed, this can lead to increased employment and higher pay levels for professionals in these fields. The conditions of war force businesses to change their products and services and this leads to an increase in the importance of certain types of work, as a result of which specialists from these industries have an advantage in employment and receiving higher pay. During the war period, there is also an increase in competition for jobs, especially in military-strategic areas - this leads to higher qualification requirements for obtaining a job, as well as changes in the level of pay. The skills of workers affect wages and employment in wartime through changes in the demand for certain skills, repurposing of production, changes in competition in the labor market, and increased workloads in certain industries. Martial law conditions are often accompanied by significant changes in society, including effects on wages and employment. This study analyzes the relationship between worker qualifications and these two factors in a military context. Using the analysis of economic and social processes, the work examines the following points: changes in the demand for labor - military conflict can lead to changes in the structure of demand for labor. Certain professions or skills may become more important, which may lead to higher pay and demand for professionals in these fields; adaptation of the economy - wartime requires a reorientation of the economy to the production of goods or services necessary to serve military needs and this creates new opportunities for specialists with specific skills; change in working conditions - war conditions lead to changes in working conditions and risks for workers in various sectors of the economy and this affects wages and willingness of workers to participate in military processes; increasing competition – in times of war, competition for limited resources and opportunities increases and this affects wages and skill requirements of workers. The conducted research is aimed at understanding the impact of employee qualifications on the level of pay and employment in the context of military conditions, in particular by analyzing changes in the economy, labor demand and working conditions.
