Abstract

Within the framework of this monograph, five directions of the Wellbeing concept according to Gallup are highlighted: professional well-being, social well-being, financial well-being, physical well-being, well-being in the living environment. Each direction is based on two criteria: professional - the connection between daily affairs and motivation to achieve goals; social - presence of support and love; financial - management of the economic situation in order to reduce stress and increase security; physical - good health and a sufficient supply of energy to carry out daily work; public - a sense of security and pride in belonging to the community. Based on these five areas of research, a global index of well-being is calculated. According to these criteria, the following categories of workers are distinguished: "thriving" (high level of quality of life), "struggling" (average level of quality of life), "suffering" (low level of quality of life). In addition to identifying the main components of well-being, Gallup analysts established a relationship between employee well-being and key company performance indicators, including: profit, productivity, and quality of products/services; reducing the number of absenteeism; reducing the number of security-related incidents; reduction of staff turnover and costs of searching for new employees. With this in mind, advanced companies strive to take care of every employee.
