Abstract

The necessity for updating educational technologies in the educational activities of general secondary education is highlighted. The expediency of parallel introduction of portfolio and case-study technologies is substantiated, mutual strengthening and mutual enrichment of educational potential which increases the efficiency of formation of socially successful personality. The specifics of the processes of introduction of each of these technologies in the educational process of the educational institution are revealed and the common aspects of this activity at different stages of implementation are emphasized. The obligatory development of the «Case-study technology implementation program in the educational process of the institution» and the «Portfolio implementation roadmap» was emphasized, which ensures synchronization of actions of all participants of pedagogical interaction and enables involvement of parents of pupils. Conclusions of content analysis of scientific research and mass pedagogical practice are presented, which testify to the proven effectiveness of these technologies, which demonstrates their advantage in creating a situation of success for each pupil, increasing pupils' motivation to succeed, developing retrospective and projective reflection skills to success and providing a field of successful self-realization in the immediate social environment. Emphasis is placed on three possible strategies of teacher behavior while working with the case and an indicative plan of interaction between pupils and the homeroom teacher concerning the introduction of the portfolio. Expert characteristics of the advantages and problematic elements of case-study technologies and portfolios in the formation of a socially successful personality and examples of their productive implementation in general secondary education are presented. The results of the research allow us to conclude that the introduction of case-study technologies and portfolios in the practice of forming a socially successful personality assists pupils to gain a wide range of universal, purposeful skills needed for lifelong learning, future careers and successful socialization.
