Abstract
In the dictionary compiled by the research team of the Department of Content and Technologies of Pedagogical Education of the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, the terms in the field of lifelong pedagogical education are presented, the conceptual and categorical apparatus in the field of educational, pedagogical sciences is systematized. The purpose of compiling a dictionary is terminological substantiation of basic concepts on the issues of theory and practice of training a modern teacher, as well as their professional growth. The research pursuit of scholars was aimed at defining and substantiating the essence of key concepts on the issues of lifelong pedagogical education, which is associated with methodological, theoretical, systematic principles of improving the training of a teacher in higher education institutions, designing a professional career, selecting appropriate forms, methods, technologies that ensure the personal and professional growth of teachers within the formal, non-formal and informal training. The dictionary shall be useful for teachers of professional pre-higher and higher pedagogical education, methodologists of institutes of postgraduate pedagogical education, consultants of centers for professional growth of teachers in regions, trainers on non-formal training of teacher-practitioners, teachers of general education institutions, scholars studying Ukrainian and foreign experience of training a modern teacher, and all those who are interested in the issues of theory and practice of pedagogical education.
