Abstract

The author raises the problem of intellectual growth of pupils through the motivation-value component of learning, which involves the ability to independently and consciously set goals, choose the means to achieve them and evaluate the result in accordance with the goal. Since motivation is the most important aspect of the formation of one or another personality activity, in the conditions of school education, a special formation of the readiness and ability of the pupils’ to set and realize the goals of his cognitive activity is required.
